The government of Nepal has declared Wednesday, June 5, 2019 a public holiday on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr . Home Ministry declared the public holiday on Tuesday evening.
The date of Eid-Ul-Fitr is decided after observing the moon. The Muslim commission had recommended ministry to declare holiday for Wednesday.
Eid-Ul-Fitr marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadhan.In a month-long Ramadan (Roja) festival, the Muslim fraternity mainly keeps them refrain from consuming food from dawn to dusk. Eid is also the festival of breaking the fast.
