The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has clarified the false rumors related to the TERAMOCS project. NTA called upon a representative from Vanrise Solutions, who was responsible for the design and development of the project.

Mohammad S. Harb, the international operations manager at Vanrise, provided details about the project and its features. He clarified that this system doesn't support or allow phone tapping. As per him, the system only receives data sent from the service provider.

He shared the certificate issued by Vanrise back on July 26, 2022, which clearly states 'No call tapping'. The certificate further read, 'The solution does not tap into or analyze voice media files. The probing software does not capture media files. No interception of live call conversation.'

According to Harb, a system has four major components, i.e., the Traffic Measurement and Monitoring System (TMS), the Network Monitoring System (NMS), the Fraud Management System (FMS), and the Extraction System (Probes). Together, it is the Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS ).
